Safran XI se encuentra en Marrakech, donde los muros color rosa de la Medina encierran una ciudad milenaria de riads, zocos y jardines. Cada riad es un mundo silencioso en torno a un patio; a pocos pasos, los zocos de Djemaa el-Fna y los mercados de especias llevan el otro ritmo de la ciudad. Las montañas del Atlas se levantan en el horizonte, el palmeral al norte, y los nuevos distritos de Guéliz e Hivernage prolongan el hilo cosmopolita hacia el oeste.
